Environmental Action Plan
Environmental Action Plan
At HRO Core Inc. we believe we have a responsibility to keep our impact on the environment to an absolute minimum. Though we are a small business, we believe that practicing environmentally sustainable practices can have an impact on our business, the environment and our ability to serve our clients.
To achieve environmental sustainability, we are committed to the following Action Items:
- Paperless office policy – We utilize new scanning technology and request electronic documents from our partners and suppliers to reduce paper. Paper is shredded and recycled. In 2010 alone, we have eliminated nearly 80% of paper in our office. This initiative has increased our efficiency and has enhanced our client service capacity by giving us faster access to documents from more locations.
- Use re-usable items and choose Environmental Choice™ office supplies and Energy Star certified office equipment where possible.
- Recycle paper and other items such as cans and bottles, and compost appropriate materials.
- Purchase recycled, recyclable or re-furbished products where possible as well as, items with reduced packaging and ability to be recycled, refilled or refurbished at end of life.
- Promote efficient use of materials and resources including water, electricity, paper and other materials and use low toxicity cleaning supplies.
- Communicate electronically where possible in order to reduce paper usage and the carbon footprint associated with postal deliveries.
- Operate from ‘home offices’ where possible to conserve resources.
- Utilize strategies to reduce transportation impact such as public transport and telephone or web meetings where possible to reduce the environmental cost of traveling in the course of business.
- Communicate the importance of environmental issues to our people.
- Promote sustainability and environmental stewardship to our clients.
This Environmental Action Plan represents our ‘Environmental Policy’ and position on our businesses current ability to implement practices which are sustainable and supportive of general environmental protection.
